Community Guidelines

1. Respectful behavior

Treat other users like collaborators in a shared hobby space. Strong opinions about games are welcome; harassment toward people is not.

• No hate speech, slurs, threats, or targeted harassment.
• No stalking, intimidation, doxxing, or sharing private personal information.
• No impersonation of other people, creators, studios, or GameTrakt staff.
• Do not encourage self-harm, violence, or illegal activity.

2. Reviews, comments, and lists

GameTrakt is built around useful game tracking and discovery. Content should add signal, context, taste, or discussion value.

• Keep reviews and comments related to the game, list, or discussion topic.
• Do not flood pages with duplicate comments, repetitive ratings, or copy-pasted text.
• Do not use lists or reviews primarily for ads, referral spam, or external funnel traffic.
• Credit sources if you quote long excerpts or use substantial references.

3. Spoilers and sensitive content

• Use spoiler controls where available when discussing plot twists, endings, or hidden content.
• Do not post graphic violence, sexual content, or shock content in avatars, banners, or public text fields.
• Mark or contextualize sensitive topics when discussing disturbing in-game content.

4. Spam, abuse, and manipulation

We actively limit behavior that degrades trust in ratings, activity feeds, or discovery.

• No botting, scripted mass actions, or abusive automation against the platform.
• No engagement manipulation (mass follow/unfollow, coordinated spam likes, fake accounts).
• No attempts to distort ratings or reviews through brigading or duplicate accounts.
• No phishing, malware links, or deceptive downloads.

5. Enforcement

GameTrakt may take action when content or accounts violate these guidelines or create platform risk.

• Content removal or visibility limits
• Feature restrictions (comments, reviews, lists, imports, social actions)
• Temporary suspensions
• Permanent account termination for severe or repeated abuse

Enforcement decisions may consider context, severity, frequency, and attempts to evade prior moderation.

6. Appeals and reporting

If you believe content violates these guidelines, report it through available in-app controls or contact us via the Contact page. If your content or account is restricted and you believe that was an error, include a concise appeal with links, timestamps, and relevant context.
