DMCA / Copyright Policy
GameTrakt respects intellectual property rights and responds to valid copyright complaints in accordance with applicable law, including the DMCA.
1. Overview
GameTrakt allows users to create content such as reviews, comments, lists, and profile text. If you believe user content on GameTrakt infringes your copyright, you may send a takedown notice. We review notices in good faith and may remove or disable access to reported content where appropriate.
2. How to submit a copyright notice
Send your notice to the designated contact listed below. To speed review, use the subject line DMCA Takedown Notice and include all required elements.
We may reject or delay action on incomplete notices that do not provide enough information to identify the work, the allegedly infringing material, or the complaining party.
3. Required information for a takedown notice
- Your full legal name and contact information (email address required).
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list if multiple works are involved).
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, including the exact URL(s) on GameTrakt where the material appears.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
4. Counter notice process
If your content was removed due to a copyright complaint and you believe it was removed in error, you may send a counter notice where permitted by law.
A valid counter notice generally includes:
- Identification of the removed material and where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe removal was due to mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, phone number, and email.
- A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court and agreeing to accept service of process from the original complainant (or their agent), where applicable.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
We may restore removed material if we receive a valid counter notice and the complainant does not take legal action within the applicable statutory period.
5. Repeat infringer policy
GameTrakt may terminate or restrict accounts that repeatedly post infringing content or repeatedly violate our intellectual property policies.
6. DMCA contact
Submit copyright notices and counter notices through the Contact page using the legal request path, or email the legal contact listed there with complete information.
Do not use the DMCA process for non-copyright complaints (for example harassment, spam, impersonation, or trademark issues). Use the appropriate support or moderation reporting path instead.
