Account and onboarding

Why am I asked to confirm my email?

Email confirmation secures your account and prevents account creation abuse. You need to confirm your email before completing onboarding with email/password signup.

I signed up but did not receive a confirmation email.

  • Check spam/junk folders.
  • Confirm the email address was entered correctly.
  • Try signing up again or use Google sign-in if available.

Library, ratings, and activity

Why does a game show as owned or wishlisted in multiple places?

Ownership can be tracked per platform. You can own a game on one platform and wishlist it on another. The app preserves those entries separately.

Can I change or remove a rating?

Yes. Your personal rating is stored as a single rating per game and can be updated or cleared. This also updates the game’s community aggregate rating.

Why did my activity feed not update immediately?

GameTrakt uses a mix of optimistic UI and server refresh/caching. Most changes should appear quickly, but some pages may require a short refresh window or manual refresh after a large change.

Imports

Why does a Steam import fail for some games?

Steam achievement and stats APIs vary by game. Some games do not expose public schemas or user stats in a usable format, especially older titles or titles with limited API support.

Can I close the browser during Steam import?

Imports are designed to run as background jobs. Progress and status should continue server-side, depending on your deployment and job processing setup.

Privacy and visibility

Who can see my library and activity?

Visibility depends on your profile privacy settings and the specific content type. Review your settings page to control profile visibility and related options.

How do I request account deletion?

Use the contact details on the Contact page and send the request from your account email. Include enough information for us to verify ownership.
